A resident of Mt. Hermon, he passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. He was born November 22, 1949 in Tangipahoa and was 67 years of age. He is survived by his wife, Melanie Moak Foy Spears; 3 children, Kirk Wade Spears and wife, Julie, Lyndy Spears Varnado and husband, Darrell, and Kerry Cade Spears; the mother of his children, Paulette Forbes Spears; 2 step-sons, Gary Gene Foy and wife, Amanda, and Bryan Scott Foy and wife, Crystal; 7 grandchildren, Daniel, Juliana, Christopher, Hannah, Emily, Claire, and London; 7 step-grandchildren, Ethan, Adison, Eliora, Ezra, Anyah, Asher, and Savannah; 7 brothers and sisters, Neva Cureton, Charlene Sterling and husband, Glen, Ernest Spears and wife, Ovelene, Audrey Dunham and husband, Ronald, Gloria Pierre, Sandra Forbes, Sherrie Thompson and husband, Chuck; numerous nieces and nephews, friends and coworkers. Preceded in death by parents, Howard and Berta Spears; brother, Edward Spears; brother in law, Robert Cureton.
