She was born October 28, 1946 in Baton Rouge, LA and was 79 years of age. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Downey; 2 daughters, Morgan Downey Pierce and Rebecca Ann Downey; sister, Marilyn Simmons Yaun; brothers, John Hillary Simmons and wife, Thelma and Ted Alex Simmons and wife, Theresa. Preceded in death by her parents, John Hillary Simmons, Sr. and Margie Ricks Simmons; brother, Jeffery Scott Simmons.
