Obituary

Annette Jacobsen Vicknair of Independence, passed away at 87 years old on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at North Oaks Medical Center surrounded by family.

She was born in Independence to Myrl Jacobsen "Papa Jake" and Ruby Carney Jacobsen "Momo" on October 30, 1935. She had one son Robert Louis Vicknair, Jr. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She worked at Child Support Enforcement and retired after 30 years. After retirement she was actively involved in her community by volunteering her time any way she could. Education was a priority for her and she spent many hours helping her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews with daily activities and school projects.

She is survived by her son, Robert Louis Vicknair, Jr., wife(Angie); sister, Susie Jacobsen; 2 step grandsons, 2 step-great grandsons, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 5 great great nieces and 2 great great nephews and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ruby Lee Johnson, brother-in-law, Luther Johnson, niece, Shyral LaMarca and nephew, AJ LaMarca, great niece, Madison Peco, ex-husband, Robert Vicknair, Sr.

Services will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 9:00AM until religious services at 1:00PM. Services conducted by Rev. Cecil Burch. Internment Colonial Mausoleum, Independence, LA.
