Charlotte Perkins LeNoir, age 94, beloved wife of Dr. James Lawrence LeNoir III of Amite LA, peacefully entered her Savior's arms on October 3, 2022 following a prolonged illness.
She was born on March 10, 1928 in Union, MS to the late Rev. Jack Andrew Perkins and Mazelle May Perkins.
She is survived by her son James Lawrence LeNoir IV (Martine); daughters Jamie LeNoir Bridger (John Henry) and Elizabeth LeNoir; grandchildren Lauren Ashley LeNoir and Wesley Philip LeNoir; and brother Ray Bernard Perkins (Shirley, deceased); nephews Matt Eric Perkins (Barbara), Tracy Ray Perkins (Beverly), and Cary Todd Perkins; and Mindy Perkins Ott (Anthony), Taylor Rhea Perkins, Jack Oneal Perkins, and Logan Todd Perkins.
Upon graduating from high school in Bartlesville OK, she attended the Mather School of Nursing at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans and Tulane University graduating in 1948 with an R.N. degree. Charlotte used her nursing skills faithfully caring for her family members during prolonged periods of their illness.
While raising her family in New Orleans, she was very active in, and served in leadership roles, with the Metairie Garden Club and the LA Medical Society's Women's Auxiliary.
Throughout her life, she served her church faithfully as a dedicated Christian. She developed and directed the nursery services for 30 years at the Metairie Baptist Church (LA). Prior to becoming homebound, she was a faithful participant in the activities and music programs at the First Baptist Church of Amite (LA).
During her lifetime, Charlotte surrounded herself with the joy of loving her family and faithfully serving those in need. She will be missed greatly by her family and by those who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service this Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Gardens, Amite LA. Rev. Ken May will officiate the service.
