Donna Nedik
Miller
Mar 8, 1952 — Jun 20, 2023
Whitefield
Donna Nedik Miller, 72, of Whitefield, Maine, formerly a long-time resident of Springfield, Louisiana, was taken to be with the Lord on June 20th, 2023, after a long journey with Parkinson's disease. She was born to Alson and Rose Nedik on March 8, 1952 in Augusta, Maine. She is predeceased by her husband Dennis Charles "D.C." Miller, her parents Alson & Rose Nedik, and her in-laws, Charles & Agnese Miller. She is survived by her three children, son Brian Beaulieu and his wife Erica Merrell of Whitefield, Maine, daughter Candace Beaulieu and her significant other Andrew Bonsant of Springfield, Louisiana, and daughter Julie Beaulieu of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her brothers Alson Nedik, Jr. and his wife Gisela of Belleview, Florida, Anthony Nedik and his wife Terra of Newburgh, Maine, and Robert Nedik of Augusta Maine, as well as her sister Mary Naughton and her husband Jack of Houston, Texas, sisters-in-law Belinda Miller, Denise Miller Smith, Ellen Miller Harter, all of Amite, Louisiana, and Morgin Miller Ricks of Huntsville, Alabama as well as many loving and supportive nieces and nephews, friends, and family members around the country.
Donna will always be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, and friend. She loved every animal that she met, but especially her beloved dachshund, Sammy. She enjoyed new adventures and spending quality time with her friends and family. She was a wonderful nurse, known for being kind, compassionate, and loving. Donna saw nursing as a calling, a lifestyle, a way of living. We honor Donna Miller, registered nurse, today and always. She is not remembered by her many years as a nurse, but by the thousands of lives she impacted over the course of her fulfilling career. She was a light to those around her and dedicated her life to caring for people in need. During her many years in Louisiana, Donna served as a Public Health Nurse for Region 9 serving Livingston, St. Helena, and Tangipahoa Parishes. She was a long-standing member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
She Was There
When a calming, quiet presence was all that was needed, She was there.
In the excitement and miracle of birth or in the mystery and loss of life, She was there.
When a silent glance could uplift a patient, family member or friend, She was there.
At those times when the unexplainable needed to be explained, She was there.
When the situation demanded a swift foot and sharp mind, She was there.
When a gentle touch, a firm push, or an encouraging word was needed, She was there.
In choosing the best one from a family's "Thank You" box of chocolates, She was there.
To witness humanity, —its beauty, in good times and bad, without judgment, She was there.
To embrace the woes of the world, willingly, and offer hope, She was there.
And now, that it is time to be at the Greater One's side, She is there.
Donna will be missed dearly. Services will be held at 11:00 am this Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at Hillsdale Baptist Church, located at 3621 Highway 1045, Amite, LA, 70422. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to a local animal shelter, the Parkinson's Foundation (www.Parkinsons.org), Maine General Hospice, or to the Hillsdale Baptist Meals Ministry. A special thanks to Maine General Hospice and Maine Dartmouth Geriatrics for the wonderful care you provided Donna.
Donna was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield and special thanks are extended to the church and community members who so faithfully serviced Donna's needs during her Parkinson's battle.
