Douglas Turnage, a resident of Amite, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday March 20, 2024 at his home. Doug was born on February 9, 1963 in Independence, Louisiana. Doug is survived by his brothers, Wayne (Kin) Turnage, Wayne (Pee Wee) Evans, Frank (Frankie) Evans, Richard (Moochie) Evans, Kristopher (George) Evans; and his sister, Valleri (Sissy) St. Amant; and his step son, Leighton Canal; along with aunts, uncles and cousins. Doug was preceded in death by his dad, Wayne Turnage Sr. of Ponchatoula; his mother, Betty Lorich of Bossier City; and his brother, Wallace (Goober) Evans of Ponchatoula.

Doug was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, he was also very good at working with wood and loved to build different things in his spare time.

A special thank you to Doug's aunt Rachel Purvis for your unwavering love and dedication to Doug over the last several years while he was sick. Your love for Doug did not go unnoticed and it was greatly appreciated.

A Memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date and will be announced in the coming weeks.
