A resident of Independence, LA, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. She was born June 6, 1951 in Tylertown, MS and was 73 years of age. She is survived by her 2 sons, Jason Estes Johnston and wife, Melanie, and Terry Alan Johnston; 2 grandchildren, Hailey Danielle Johnston Peek and husband, Matthew, and Skylar Allen Johnston; 2 sisters, Maude Johnston and Martha Daniel; 3 brothers, James D. Daniel and wife, Kathy, Robert Daniel and wife, Laura, and John Daniel; canine companion, Lily. Preceded in death by husband, Arvin "Shorty" I. Johnston; and parents, James M. and Lois McAllister Daniel. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
