Franklin Woodrow Redmond a lifelong resident of Greensburg, LA passed away on Thursday January 21, 2021 at the age of 88. After several months of declining health, Woodrow died peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Woodrow was born in Greensburg on July 10, 1932, to father Clarence Redmond and mother Gladys Yarborough Redmond. He served in the Army in the Korean War from February 1953 until December 1954. After the war he used the G.I. bill to attend school and became and welder and millwright. He married Margaret Jean Herbert on April 4, 1957. Woodrow loved gardening, duck hunting and fishing. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. In retirement he became an expert woodworker and made furniture he gifted to family. He enjoyed his retirement, working on his hobbies and helping family. Woodrow was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, son Paul and grandson Matthew. He is survived by his son Frank, his wife Anjanette and grandson Collin Redmond. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. A visitation for Woodrow is planned for Wednesday, January 27, from 10 am to 12 pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm. The visitation will be at the McKneely Funeral Home, Avenue G & 7th Street, Kentwood La. 70444. Interment will be at Days United Methodist Church, 23689 Hwy. 43, Greensburg, La. 70441.
