A resident of Amite, LA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday,

May 29 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born September 26, 1946 in Church Point, LA and was 76 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Doris M. Wright; 1 daughter, Melissa Wright Breaux (Randy); 1 son, Patrick Wright (Arlene); 6 grandchildren, Amanda W. Sibley (Daniel); Kyle Wright (Gabby); Bodhi Wright (Halie); Mark Christopher Wright, II. (Gabrielle); Katelyn Wright; Rachael Breaux; 6 great-grandchildren, Clay and Cade Sibley, Hadly, Hayes and Eligh Wright, Kinsleigh Wright and 2 step great grandchildren, Landon and Annaleigh Cernich. He is preceded in death by his son, Mark Christopher Wright; parents, Garland and Viola Wright; sister Kathleen Bott; brother, Peter Wright.

He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Uncle, as well as a loyal friend to all those who knew him. He was employed in the Oil Field Service Industry for 48 years. He was the owner of an Oil Field Service Company, Derrick Hammers. After selling the company he went to work for Patterson Services, Inc. He was also very instrumental in obtaining the funding for the Florida Parish Arena In Amite, LA where you can find his picture on the Wall of Fame,
