Hilawa "Jenine" Duarte died at 11:50a.m. on October 20, 2024 at her home in Roseland, LA. She was a native of Dallas, TX and a resident of Roseland, LA. She was 82 years old. Visitation at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 11:00 a.m. until services at 12:00p.m. on October 26, 2024. Services conducted by Bro. Matt Gassaway. Interment Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek, LA. Survived by children, David W. Mote, Roseland, Judy M. Varnado and her husband, Mark, Kentwood, Bridgette Duarte, Dallas, TX, and Jeffrey M. Duarte, Van Nuys, CA, 6 grandchildren, Sara, Marcus, Emily, Victoria, Alexander, and Madison, 2 great-grandchildren, Autumn and Bennett, and brother, R. Lynn Pierce. Preceded in death by her loving husband Marcus "Danny" Duarte, and parents Rio S. Pierce and Dorthy L. Pierce. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Cemetery fund.
