A resident of Amite, LA, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born October 4, 1933 in Amite, LA and was 88 years of age. She was the owner of The Village Wear House in Amite, LA from 1972 until 2000. She is survived by her 4 children, Wally Dees and wife, Amber, Richard S. Dees, Kerri Dees Ardillo and husband, Jay, and Brian P. Dees and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Adam Dees, Matt Dees (Heather), Patrick Dees (Jessica), Daniel Dees (Brianne), Benjamin Dees, Amy Dees Woodard (Trent), Joseph Ardillo, Jonathan Ardillo, Courtney Schumacher (Sheila), Hayden Schumacher, Danny Edwards, Zachary Edwards (Bailey), Kaleb Hebert; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Wilson Travis (Dennis); numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Wallace A. Dees, Jr.; second husband, Edwin Courtney; parents, Howard and Ethel Wilson. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Our Lady of the Lake HVCU for their special care that she received. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Monday. Visitation will resume at Kedron Baptist Church, Amite, from 8:00AM until Religious Services at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Services conducted by Rev. Byron Humphrey.
