Obituary

A loving husband and father, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at home in Kentwood, LA surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 23, 1960 in Independence, LA and was 63 years of age. Jeffery was a U. S. Navy Veteran serving during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. He managed Alessi Video in Kentwood where he met his wife and everyone else in town. He worked in sales for a time and eventually found his calling in the oil and gas industry. Jeffery made lifetime friends wherever he went which included the entire U.S., Russia, Africa, The Middle East, Asia, Australia, Carribean and Canada. He was a top consultant for Planning and Scheduling and taught SAP to numerous people around the world. Jeffery loved LSU Football and never missed a game. He loved classic rock music and passed that love to both of his children. Jeffery loved to travel with his family and made many unforgettable memories together. He will be missed by his extended family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Janet Travis Alessi; son, Skylar Alessi; favorite daughter, Remi Alessi; brothers and sisters, Gloria Magee, Burnell Alessi, Gene Joe Alessi, Jr., Alisa Fussell, Marie Smith, and Cindy Adams;  brother-in-law, Tommy Travis; sister-in-law, Patsy Brumfield; best friend, Toot Yarborough; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Gene Joseph Alessi, Sr. and Gloria Brabham Alessi; brothers, Joseph and Daniel Alessi; brother-in-law, Lige Travis, Jr.; and nephews, Christopher Magee and Davy Travis; niece, Gracie Travis. The family would like to thank Modern Hospice for their kindness and care during this difficult time. Visitation at Taylor Creek Baptist Church, 1936 Hwy 440, Kentwood, LA from 6:00PM until 9:00PM on Tuesday and from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
