Jimmie Nicolaus Burrescia, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the age of 69. He was born on April 23, 1954 in Independence, Louisiana, and resided there. He graduated from Independence High School in 1972.

Jimmie was very proud to be a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in Operation Desert Storm. He was also a dedicated truck driver for many years. In his spare time, he loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, deer hunt, watch football games, visit with friends, and spend time with his family. He especially loved to visit and spend time with his three grandchildren, as well as his niece, nephews, and their families. He touched the lives of many people, and everyone from family to friends to co-workers loved him very dearly.

Jimmie is survived by his loving family: his daughter Brooke Dufour and her husband, Matthew; his grandchildren Roman, Alexandra, and Faustin Dufour; and his brother Johnny Burrescia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Burrescia, Sr. and Sarah Navarra Burrescia, and his brother Tommy Burrescia.

A memorial service to honor Jimmie will be held at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite, Louisiana at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
