Josephine "Phyne" Gulino Guzzardo, a resident of Independence, LA, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center in Independence, LA. She was born October 17, 1925 in Amite, LA and was 96 years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Guzzardo Morgan and husband, Wayne; son, Sammy Guzzardo, Jr., daughter-in-law, Lena Domiano Guzzardo; grandchildren, Dana Lynn Crowe, Joey Guzzardo, Jr., Leanne Guzzardo, and Jessica Guzzardo; 2 great-grandsons, William "C.J." Mitchell and Jordan Mitchell; sister-in-law, Lou Macaluso and husband, Nick; and special "grandchild", Nicholas Perkins;  and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Sam J. Guzzardo, Sr.; son, Joseph Michael Guzzardo; daughter, Diane Guzzardo Crowe and son-in-law, Gordon Martin Crowe, Jr.; parents, Pat and Jennie Gulino; sister, Rosalie Gennaro (Sam); brothers-in-law, Tony Guzzardo (Ina) and J.T. Guzzardo (Stella); sister-in-law, Fannie Schittone (John). Special thanks to her caregivers for so many years, niece, Debbie Guzzardo Husser and Carolyn Williams.
