A resident of Independence, LA, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Landmark Nursing Home in Hammond, LA. She was born September 28, 1938 in Jackson, MS and was 85 years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Cambetta Gabardi and husband, Glen; 2 sons, Joel Cambetta and James Cambetta and wife, Diana; 5 grandchildren, Kristal Odom and husband, Christopher, Leslie Seward and husband, Marcus, Jaime Tininenko and husband, Cole, Casie Cambettta, and Christian Cambetta; 5 great- grandchildren, Tiana Seward, Baylor Boyd,  Auston Odom, Anslea Odom, and Josie Seward. Preceded in death by her husband, Julius Cambetta; son, Jeffrey A. Cambetta, parents, Emmanuel and Margaret Bornes; sister, Virginia Fontenot; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Bena Cambetta; brother-in-law, Marion Cambetta. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9:00AM until 11:30AM on Thursday, January 4, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 12:00 Noon on Thursday. Services conducted by Fr. Reuben Dykes.
