Linda S. Cutrer, a lifelong resident of Amite, LA was born on September 15, 1951, and entered into eternal life at the age of 75 on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Zachary, LA. Linda was a 1969 graduate of Amite High School. She was then employed at B. Stern Company, a historic department store in Amite, the Mayor’s office in Roseland for four years, North Oaks OB/GYN office in Amite for many years, and then she later retired as a secretary from the Tangipahoa Parish District Attorney’s office after 30 years of service. Throughout Linda’s life, she was known for her strong work ethics, morals, loyalty, and genuine love for the people around her. Although these qualities were exemplified in Linda, her most important passion was her family. Linda loved her family deeply, but her greatest pride and joy were her two children, Binky and Keeli. Linda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the casinos, movies and restaurants with Chester, home cooked meals especially Binky’s grilled pork chops and green salad, and watching old television shows particularly western cowboy shows. Linda was engaged to the love of her life, Chester Pritchett, for thirty years and was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all. Linda spent the last 6 ½ months of her life in 5 different hospitals, she fought many battles and overcame medical complications that doctors said that were impossible to conquer. She was a fighter and a trooper or as Binky called her “a tough old bird!” Linda has always been an inspiration to her children and even though she lost the war in the end, she will always be a hero in her children’s eyes. Linda is survived by her fiancé’, Chester Pritchett; son, Bruce E. “Binky” Cutrer, II; daughter, Keeli Lyn Cutrer and fiancé, Danny D. “Bull” Prevost Jr.; brother, J.D. Stevens and wife, Toni S. Stevens; numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend of 58 years, Ann Linda “Puddin” Cutrer. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie L. “Rip” Stevens and Mary A. Nicosia Stevens; and her sister, Paulette S. “Polly” DiBenedetto. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM on Sunday, October 11, 2026 and will resume at 9:00AM on Monday, October 12, 2026 until Religious services at 11:00AM.
