A resident of Roseland, LA, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at her home. She was born September 9, 1941 in Grangeville, LA and was 82 years of age. Mathilda was a ballroom dancer and retired from the State of Louisiana. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Wilson and husband, Tracy; 3 grandchildren, Reide, Regan, and Laurel Wilson; step-son-in-law, Terry Mitchell; step-grandson, Trey Mitchell; 5 brothers and sisters, Louise Russell, Robert Ricks and wife, Pat, Thelma Simmons and husband, Hillary, Carroll Ann Corona, Jewel Hudspeth-Harrell and husband, Danny; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Mize; her parents, Bennie and Pearl Bond Ricks; step-daughter, Vickie Mize Mitchell; 1 sister, Ruby Faye Ricks; 2 brothers, Maurice Ricks and Alfred Ricks; 3 brothers-in-law, Kirk Russell, Tom Corona, and Charlie Hudspeth; 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Ricks and Sharon Ricks.
