A resident of Folsom, LA, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. He was born August 27, 1959 in New Orleans, LA and was 63 years of age. He is survived by his 3 children, Tina Johnson and husband Rusty, John Paul Poolson and wife Amy, Kelly Renee Poolson; grandchildren: Ava Johnson, Noah Poolson, Sarah Johnson, and Liam Paul Poolson; the family of his late companion, Frances Rae Lee Saurage, Gregory J. Saurage and Charlotte Saurage Miller and their children, Frances Saurage, Cassie DuBose, Daniel Saurage, Jake Saurage, Reiss Saurage, Alicia Welty Matthews, Stacy Welty Owens, Brittney Brewster; and their grandchildren, Lindsey, Trey, Noelle, Gabrielle, Jacob Jr., Jaxon, Ozzy and Ella Rae. 3 sisters, Cathy Poolson, Connie Burnthorn, and Charlynn Whitehead; sister-in-law, Loretta Poolson; fiancé, Lana Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by parents, Shelby Poolson Sr. and Hazel Yvonne Sanders Whitehead; 3 brothers, Shelby Poolson Jr., Keith Poolson, and Gary Poolson; brother-in-law, Don Burnthorn; grandparents, Daniel and Madeline Anthony Sanders, William Franklin Poolson, and Ethel Farve Poolson Jewel; and a special aunt, Lucy Populis Clements.
