A resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. She was born August 7, 1953 in Franklinton, LA and was 70 years of age. She is survived by her 3 children, Kirk Spears and wife, Julie, Lyndy Spears Varnado and companion, Mark Conner, and Kerry Spears and wife, Nichole; grandchildren, Hannah Varnado, Emily Varnado, Daniel Spears, Juliana Spears, Claire Varnado, Christopher Spears, and London Jaufre; brother-in-law, Leslie "Tex" Derrough; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank Forbes and Opal Seal Forbes; father of her children, Clyde Spears; sister, Barbara Bates Derrough; brother, Frank LaRue Forbes; sister-in-law, Sandra Forbes; and nephew, Davin Bates.
