Rita I. Everett of Loranger passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023, in Loranger surrounded by family and friends. She was born on January 28, 1934 in Loranger and was 89 years old. Rita retired from Loranger Elementary School as a custodian and worked many years at the grocery store in Loranger. She was a lifelong member of Cooper's Chapel Methodist Church. What she enjoyed most was giving to children and visiting with family and friends while drinking coffee. She is survived by one brother, Bill Everett of Gonzales, and one sister, Annette Toth of Ponchatoula, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Edith Everett; brothers, Andrew, Amile and Billy Ray Everett; sisters, Margaret Rousseau, Joyce Slocum, and Jannette Everett. Visitation at Cooper's Chapel Methodist Church, Loranger, from 8:30AM until religious services at 11:30AM on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Services conducted by Bro. Adam Moore. Interment Briar Patch Cemetery, Loranger, LA. Pallbearers will be Mickey Watson, Jed Neal, Scott Neal, Will Tarver, Kendell Smith, and Hezzie Anthony.
