A resident of Zachary, LA, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at The Crossing in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born February 16, 1927 in Gillsburg, MS and was 95 years of age. Maw as she was affectionately know, was a feisty, fun, sweet, amazing woman who loved her family. She was married to "Paw" for 57 years. He was truly the love of her life. She loved to cook and feed everybody! Because she loved so big, she will be missed even bigger. The world was a better place because of her. She is survived by her son, Terry W. Fontenot and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Dawn Burel and husband, Matt, Brent Fontenot and wife Dixye, Jason Fontenot and wife, Katy, Michael Fontenot and wife, Robin, Samuel Fontenot and wife, Ashley, Elizabeth Turner and husband, Rob, Sophia Fontenot, Jacob Cosme and wife, Samantha, and Joshua Cosme; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Harris J. Fontenot; parents, Sam and Sara Lee; son, Harris Gerald Fontenot; eight brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Dakota White, Corey Aucoin, Mathew Burel, Schyler Fontenot, Brennon Fontenot, and Toi Calinqasan. Visitation at Red Bluff Baptist Church from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Sunday, and from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Monday, April 4, 2022. Services conducted by Jimmy Miller.
