Robert Wilson Miller entered the gates of heaven to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA, surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1944, and was 81 years of age.
He loved his wife, Judy, and was blessed to see all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren frequently. His passion was quail hunting in west Texas with family, friends, and the bird dogs. Many fond memories were made through the years and will be cherished by all.
Robert was a member and inactive Deacon of Friendship Baptist Church and also loved his church family. He served in the United States Air Force as Airman First Class from 1963 until 1966. Robert was awarded The Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service from January 1, 1966 to June 30, 1966. After the military, he worked in various business ventures including dairying, banking and finance, and loan brokering.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judith Ann Strahan Miller; 3 sons, Randall "Randy" Miller (Brenda), Ronald "Ronnie" Miller (Judy), and Richard "Ricky" Miller (Donna); 5 grandchildren, Kayla Miller Warren (Jacob), Randall Wilson Miller (Katherine), Cheyenne Miller McMichael (Kenneth), Justin Lakota Miller, and Hunter Austin Miller; 10 great grandchildren, Lailah Lynn Warren, Kipton Ross Warren, Zaxtin Miller Warren, Mavrik Kalvin Warren, Matthew Wilson Miller, Scarlett Adele Miller, Caegan Tyler McMichael, Kenneth 'Trayce' McMichael, Kenley Elizabeth-Ray McMichael, and Stetson Lee Miller; sister, Virginia Miller Bennett; brother, Francis Ray Miller (Mildred); brother-in-law, Cleve Buniff.
Preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Miller and Jeannette Simmons Miller; sister, Marie Miller Buniff; granddaughter, Breanne Adele Miller; brother in-law, Thomas Bennett.
Visitation at Friendship Baptist Church, Amite, LA from 9:00 a.m. until religious service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, conducted by Dr. Doyle Waldrop, III. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
