Obituary

Stephen "Steve" Aubrey Addison passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on March 21, 2026, at the age of 69.  Steve was born on July 3, 1956, in Independence, Louisiana. He was raised in Loranger and spent over 50 years building a life and raising his family in Amite, a place he proudly called home.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Steve found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life; early mornings in the woods, days spent fishing, and time shared with friends who became like family. He made his living as a freight truck driver, at one time owning his own trucking business. Known across the industry by his call sign "Buckshot," he was respected for his hard work and dependability. Above all, Steve was a devoted family man. He was a proud daddy, but nothing brought him more joy than being "Paw Paw."

He is survived by his daughters, Angel Addison Watts and husband, Lane, and Kristin Addison. He was a proud grandfather to Jude Watts, Aubrey Lane Watts, Shaw Watts, Seth Ransbottom, and Penny Kay Relan. Steve is also survived by his sisters, Pam Addison, Belinda Addison, and Bessie Dufrene; his sister-in-law, Barbara Holmes and husband Mike; and a large, loving group of nieces and nephews, Chris Goldsby, Joey Addison, Jennifer Addison, Matthew Addison, Ashley Carlton, Will Melvin, Toni Kirk, Michael Holmes, and Chris Holmes, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews; and mother-in-law, Mary Dunn.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kay "Katie" Addison; his parents, Aubrey Addison and Ella Waskom; his granddaughter, Jesse Maria Watts; his nephew, Jason Addison; and his sister, Amber Renee Addison.

Steve will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, his love of the outdoors, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the values he instilled, and the many lives he touched.
